On-site flange face and nozzle insert repair
Heat cycling, gasket-witness machining and dropped tools deform flange faces and corrode nozzle sleeves, so the line leaks and stays out of service.
What is failing
Heat cycling, gasket-witness machining, and dropped tools score and deform flange faces, while corrosion eats into nozzle sleeves. The joint will not seal, so the line weeps or stays blanked off. Cutting the spool out for shop re-machining means a long line break and a welding permit.
How AAS does it
AAS reforms the flange face in place against the mating flange, using a release agent so the cured surface mirrors its partner exactly. The crew prepares the corroded steel, rebuilds the face with machinable composites such as Belzona 1111 and 1121, and uses a release film like Belzona 9411 to take the impression. No hot work, and the spool never leaves the line.
Typically applied with Belzona 1111, Belzona 1121, Belzona 9411, matched to the service conditions.
The flange seats and seals against its own mating face. The line stays in place, with no cut-out, no welding permit, and no shop trip for the spool.
