Metal Repair

General metal-loss rebuilding composites

Metal loss from corrosion, erosion or pitting retires equipment once it reaches a code-trigger thickness, and weld build-up adds heat distortion.

The problem

What is failing

Corrosion, erosion, and pitting eat metal off equipment surfaces until thickness drops to a code trigger and the part is condemned. Weld build-up is the usual fallback, but it adds heat distortion and a heat-affected zone that can crack later. Either way the asset is out of service and the clock is running on a turnaround.

Our method

How AAS does it

AAS rebuilds pitted and chemically wasted surfaces with cold-cure metal composites such as Belzona 1111 and 1311, then machines them back to the original tolerance. The crew abrasive-blasts the substrate to a clean profile first so the composite bonds for the long term. There is no arc, no torch, and no heat-affected zone left behind.

Typically applied with Belzona 1111, Belzona 1311, matched to the service conditions.

The result

Wasted surfaces come back to original dimension and stay within code thickness. The facility keeps the existing part instead of cutting it out and welding in new metal.

How AAS delivers it

AAS performs General metal-loss rebuilding composites work for Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, and Petrochemical & Chemical operations across Baton Rouge and Louisiana, cold-applied and in place wherever possible, on your turnaround schedule. Crews are factory-trained Belzona applicators, the repair system is matched to the service conditions it will see, and urgent failures are covered by 24-hour on-call response. The result is a permanent, engineered repair that returns the asset to service without the cost or downtime of full replacement.
