Engineered composite pipe wrap repair

Through-wall corrosion, external pitting, and mechanical damage thin pressurized pipes and vessels before a replacement turnaround is scheduled.

The problem

What is failing

Through-wall corrosion, external pitting, and mechanical damage thin pressurized pipe and vessel walls well before a replacement turnaround is on the schedule. Louisiana refiners and petrochemical producers cannot always take a line down on the defect's timeline, so the wall keeps losing metal under pressure. Left alone, the defect grows into a release, a lost-product event, or a forced unplanned shutdown.

Our method

How AAS does it

AAS applies an engineered resin and fiber composite wrap, often Belzona SuperWrap II, while the line stays online and under pressure. The repair is designed and documented to ISO 24817 and ASME PCC-2, so the wrap is an accountable engineered fix rather than a field patch. Our factory-trained and factory-certified Belzona applicators prepare the substrate, build the laminate to the calculated layer count, and cure it cold with no welding.

Typically applied with Belzona SuperWrap II, Belzona 1212, matched to the service conditions.

The result

The pipe or vessel recovers its design pressure rating and stays in service through to the next planned outage. The operator avoids an emergency shutdown and the cost of a fabricated replacement section.

How AAS delivers it

AAS performs Engineered composite pipe wrap repair work for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical & Chemical, and Water & Wastewater operations across Baton Rouge and Louisiana, cold-applied and in place wherever possible, on your turnaround schedule. Crews are factory-trained Belzona applicators, the repair system is matched to the service conditions it will see, and urgent failures are covered by 24-hour on-call response. The result is a permanent, engineered repair that returns the asset to service without the cost or downtime of full replacement.
