Leak Sealing

Oil and transformer leak sealing

Oil leaks at transformer tanks, gearbox cases, and weld seams persist because the oil film stops conventional adhesives from setting.

The problem

What is failing

Oil leaks at transformer tanks, gearbox cases, and weld seams resist conventional repair because the oil film keeps standard adhesives from setting. The leak persists, the oil film spreads, and the housekeeping and environmental exposure pile up. Draining a transformer or gearbox to chase one seam means a long outage and a costly refill the facility would rather avoid.

Our method

How AAS does it

AAS seals the leak with an oil-tolerant compound, typically Belzona 1212, that cures directly onto oil-wet steel. Our crew prepares the weeping area and works the material into the leak path without draining the unit. The repair is cold-cure and done in place, so there is no hot work near the oil and no heat on the case.

Typically applied with Belzona 1212, matched to the service conditions.

The result

The leak stops without draining the transformer, gearbox, or tank. The equipment stays charged or in service, and the facility keeps its oil charge in place.
