Erosion & Abrasion

Erosion-corrosion resistant equipment coatings

Flow-induced metal loss exposes fresh steel that the process chemistry then attacks, thinning seawater filters, amine systems, impellers, blades, and rudders.

The problem

What is failing

Flowing media strips the protective film off the metal, exposing bare steel that the process chemistry then attacks. This combined erosion-corrosion thins seawater filters, amine system internals, impellers, blades, and rudders far faster than either mechanism alone. The result is lost efficiency and equipment retired well before its design life.

Our method

How AAS does it

AAS prepares the affected surface and applies a ceramic-filled coating rated for the combined abrasive and chemical load, in the field or in our climate-controlled shop. One cold-applied recoat addresses both failure modes at once, with no hot work and no heat into thin sections. Surface prep is matched to the immersion service so the barrier bonds and stays put.

The result

The filter, impeller, or rudder returns with a single barrier that holds back both wear and chemical attack, restoring efficiency and stretching the interval between repairs.

How AAS delivers it

AAS performs Erosion-corrosion resistant equipment coatings work for Water & Wastewater, Pulp & Paper, and Petrochemical & Chemical operations across Baton Rouge and Louisiana, cold-applied and in place wherever possible, on your turnaround schedule. Crews are factory-trained Belzona applicators, the repair system is matched to the service conditions it will see, and urgent failures are covered by 24-hour on-call response. The result is a permanent, engineered repair that returns the asset to service without the cost or downtime of full replacement.
