Rubber & Elastomer

Rubber fender and component repair

Impact and abrasion tear dock fenders, skirting, and molded rubber parts faster than replacement parts can be sourced and shipped.

The problem

What is failing

Impact and abrasion tear dock fenders, skirting, and molded rubber parts faster than replacement parts can be sourced and shipped. A molded marine fender or custom rubber component can carry a long lead time and a high replacement cost. A torn fender that keeps taking berthing loads risks damage to the structure and the vessel.

Our method

How AAS does it

AAS rebuilds torn rubber components cold with a high-build elastomer that bonds to the existing part. The crew cleans and abrades the torn area, removes degraded rubber, and rebuilds the section by hand, on the dock or in our Baton Rouge shop. The supporting Belzona 2211 and Belzona 2311 elastomers carry the impact and flex of marine fender service, and both cure cold with no hot work near the waterline.

Typically applied with Belzona 2211, Belzona 2311, matched to the service conditions.

The result

Damaged fenders, skirting, and molded parts return to service without a replacement order or its lead time. Louisiana marine operators keep berths and equipment working through the repair.
