Upstand, joint, seam and protrusion weatherproofing
Upstands, seams, joints, and roof protrusions concentrate movement and standing water, so they are the first details to leak on an otherwise sound roof.
What is failing
Upstands, seams, joints, and roof protrusions concentrate both movement and standing water. They are the first details to leak even when the rest of the roof is sound. One open upstand or pipe boot lets water into the deck while the field membrane is still doing its job.
How AAS does it
AAS prepares each detail, then works a cold-applied membrane into the upstand, seam, joint, and protrusion by hand. We reinforce the complex geometry with embedded fabric so the membrane bridges movement at the hardest points. The work is done in place with no hot work, using a Belzona 3000-series membrane to seal around pipes, curbs, and parapets.
The details that leak first are sealed without touching the sound field of the roof. The facility stops chasing water at every penetration and edge.
